It is possible to acquire enough coping skills that you outgrow your diagnosis and become subclinical. subclinical means "In diagnosis, where some criteria are met but not enough to achieve clinical status." Losing your diagnosis doesn't mean your brain has rewired itself in a neurotypical...

Secretly a shameless bump (maybe I shouldn't tell that, damn my honesty), but I am also curious about your opinion on projects like this. After the amount of attention the original animation received in the media and the awards it won, why doesn't it have more backers yet? What I can think of are th...

Hi Everyone, This year Alex Amelines finished a short animation explaining autism to children. It was made over two years in his spare time as an educational movie for his sons school and freely shared on the internet, where it went viral, the animation was mentioned in the media, won prices and was...

I believe that the reason asd/ aspergers has found no cure is because it has historically been treated. It is treated as a social disease. While it may be a social disease it needs to be looked at like cancer in that it will always be in your body, but with the right treatment it won't affect you c...

It's so amazing that so many people can relate to my issues in my life :) Doesn't make me feel so alone :) It helps me a lot as well, knowing that I am not the only one with these problems. Sometimes it feels very loonly when no one seems to understand how difficult some situations are for me. Talk...

ASD has no cure because it is no illness... Autism Spectrum Disorder is a difference in development of the brain, not a defect but a variation. Disorder is in my opinion even the wrong term used, personally I prefer ASC (Condition). This still means that it can be very difficult for someone to be on...

There is absolutely no need for a female-centered movie about Aspergers. Not because there aren't any aspie females out there; there clearly are. But life as a male with ASD is exponentially more crippling than life as a female with ASD. The politically correct media has taken all the traditional m...

Thankfully, it is prohibited in the Netherlands as well. I don't drink, smoke, gamble or do drugs but I also do not have a social life and thus can't really give advise except for what logic tells me; don't do stupid stuff because you feel others won't except you otherwise. It is not worth it!
