I can relate to not being labeled as "schizophrenic" even though I have never heard voices. My mother was diagnosed with schizophrenia in her 50's and it is definitely a factor in me not wanting to seek a diagnosis. I'm scared that professionals won't listen to me since I have a family his...

I can pick up the words after hearing a song a few times but I can't make sense of any of them. It's like I hear each word separately instead of my mind stringing them together into anything meaningful. I believe my own problem is an auditory processing issue as I always have issues when anyone is s...

I've had flatmates and I honestly preferred it. I always thought I'd like living alone but I become depressed and suicidal very quickly if I don't have other people around. I don't have any friends so having a roommate at least provides some amount of human interaction on a daily basis. I will say I...

It was almost impossible to get me to take photos when I was a child. I would either go hide or start crying whenever my family got together for pictures. These days I normally consent since I don't want to appear weird but I really don't like it. I feel like I'm never quite sure what I'm supposed t...

I consistently test as an INTJ but I identify more with the INTP description. The first time I ever took the test was in highschool and I tested at 100% introverted. I've gotten a little bit better since then but I still test around 90%.

But despite that the people you describe sound like they function at a much higher level than I do. I have a long term full time job and live independently in my own house and by many standards I am pretty successful, but I don't even come close to the level of functioning of the people you describ...

These days I live with my partner and work in a field that requires me to talk to people so I probably do more talking now than I've ever done in my life. Even with that, though, I probably still do significantly less talking than most people since I have no friends and don't really do any socializi...

Maybe the cause that I am overly secretive is that I didn't have privacy as child. I wonder about this as well. My mother used to go through all of my things and she'd also steal my journals to read them. I'm impressed that you kept writing because I stopped at around age 15 when something really t...

I had a vague sense people weren’t supposed to be so deeply interested in such things. I think this is part of what it is for me. I have a number of really mundane-looking things that I'm interested in but I'm often way more interested in them than other people and there's also normally an underlyi...

I'm like this as well and I've always done the exact same thing with switching the channel and changing the screen even when doing totally appropriate things. Honestly, I could have written this exact post because I do all of this. It's caused issues in my relationship because my partner perceives t...

My goals are also primarily focused on improving my situation. I absolutely hate living in the southern United States and so I enrolled in college with the goal of being able to move and get a job in another part of the country. My other goals are all special interest related. I think a good place t...

I don't react very much to anything that happens. I can be very blank and inert. I don't express emotion very much but it does not mean that I don't feel it. It just seems to be an internal and mute process. I apologise to those people that I have annoyed because of it. This describes me perfectly....

A few years ago, I moved into a place by myself, lost my job, and didn't speak to anybody for several months since I had no friends or family. I actually thought this would be an ideal situation since I don't like being around people anyway but I constantly felt like I was losing my mind and I was s...

I also write well but struggle with speaking. I can relate to a number of people above in that I go nearly mute when I'm emotional and I really struggle with finding the correct words when I'm speaking. I also have a hard time figuring out how to effectively communicate something that I'm thinking s...

I sometimes feel this way myself because I wasn't really officially diagnosed either. I was simply told by a therapist and a psychiatrist that they believed that I was on the spectrum and they didn't do any further testing because at the time I was completely in denial and I got angry at them for ev...

Yeah, I have no idea how to do it. I work at a gym that has a nursery and I used to get called in to help with the kids before my boss realized that me working with children was a total disaster. I literally have no idea how to communicate with them and it gets even worse if they're loud or if they ...
