Oh my goodness, yes. Do any of you have a similar problem with hand-cream? I used to have terribly dry hands but just couldn't stand the feeling of having hand-cream on my hands. I would inevitably end up just going and washing it right off again, making the dryness worse. I have the same problem wi...

What medical tests have you done to find what is actually causing your problems? Or if it is all environmental, what caused it? :( Seibelin, thank you for your reply. I've had all sorts of blood tests but those didn't explain my problems. The theory is that it's a 'chemical imbalanc...

Please tell your therapist and doctor that you are considering the worst of the worst, you are a beautiful and valid member of the human race as meaningless as that may sound, I understand the gravity of such a grim cocoon of feral feelings and swim through such tides but do not lose sight of the h...

I want to want to live. I want to get rid of these endless thoughts and feelings of not being able to bear it and of wanting it all to end. I've tried therapy and while I thought it was helpful, I got worse during the months I attended. I've tried various different medications for anxiety & depr...

Hello creativesoul, Yes, I can relate a lot to what you wrote here. I've dealt with depression in recurrent episodes for 9 years. I have had periods during this time when I was not depressed, but it has always come back, and it's hard to imagine being completely free of it. I've heard from plenty of...

I feel I could spend all day just typing what they are 'saying.' Just very random things which are hard to connect.

Just now:
'Find an escape route.'
'Apparently driven.'
'We're the nice ones.'

For the past week or so, I've been having thoughts which 'aren't mine.' It's like I'm 'hearing' them but NOT out loud: it's rather in the same way that I 'hear' my own thoughts (as opposed to actual speech), except these are completely out of my control and catch me by surprise every time. I don't k...

I wouldn't worry about taking seroquel. Many many people take it or another drug like it for various problems. I also take a low dose AP, and have no problems, and it has helped me tremendously. Be sure and take it at night before bed though. Thank you for the reassuring reply, jmncrr000! It's good...

Thank you both for your replies. That's a scary story, Trekkie83. I'm glad to hear that nobody was injured. I've heard of other people also doing strange things in their sleep on quetiapine. I hope that it doesn't cause this in me (I don't drive, at least, but I imagine there are lots of other ways ...

I've just been prescribed this (75mg daily) for debilitating anxiety which won't abate with other meds. I was wondering if anyone else here takes it, or has taken it in the past. If so, what has your experience been? What do you take it for? Has it helped you at all? Thank you for reading & in a...

As well as AS, I have been diagnosed with anxiety and depression which has been recurring for 8+ years (I am now twenty.) Some months ago I had a really bad relapse which led to having to go to a general hospital for a few days. The crisis is over but I'm still really struggling. Doing anything is e...

I get these thoughts stuck in my head and they are constantly there for days or weeks or months. Often they are irrational but they are always possible and feel terribly true and immediate. Sometimes they are thoughts of suicide, with or without depression. Sometimes it is questioning whether I'm re...

Yes. I take medication and that helps but doesn't solve the problem. Other than that I try to break things down into little bits and set reasonable goals. For example I have a daily checklist with small things on like brushing teeth, spending at least 15mins on each of writing, reading and studying,...

The predominant view I seem to find on here is that of wanting a relationship very much, but finding it hard to get there. Meanwhile I genuinely do not want this. My main goal in life is to live independently though with as many animals as I am able to take care of. I do get lonely, but don't think ...

Thank you both for your replies. It didn't seem likely to me that it would be a reason for exclusion either, but I read that other conditions which also are not infectious, so far as we know (such as schizophrenia) are a reason for exclusion, but I guess that's because of the worry that a patient in...

I am diagnosed with relatively mild ASD. I donated blood for the first time a few days ago, having been glad to find out that this does not exclude me for doing that. I'd also like to add myself to the bone marrow/stem cell donor register, but I'm unsure if I would be able to with autism. I've read ...
