I hate it too. I only get angry once people know me. People who know me think I'm older than 30 because I'm intelligent and well read. If someone sees me and thinks I'm a kid it upsets me but that's cos I look like a kid and I like to go places with my parents. It's unfair cos my mum's NT and by th...

Any sort of condescension whatsoever whether it's with the usage of the word "kiddo" or any other such moniker is utterly repulsive to me. There are a couple of ways this could be interpreted though, an older person trying to broadcast the fact that he is older than you or they know that y...

I do believe that non-conformity is one of our primary defining attributes as Aspies and is one of our many social impairments but could be viewed by many as one of our greatest strengths. I am physically unable to conform to much of anything and the very idea of "following the crowd" is ...

Even at 43 years of age I still get bullied even to this day. I still haven't figured a way around this or through it but there are some times where I can stand up for myself and assert myself to the degree of fending off these attacks but the entire process is still very excruciating. Being a guy a...

I was able to say I love you to my mom when I was a kid but that quickly wore off as soon as I moved out.

The only time that I say I love you now is to my teddy bear because I know he loves me right back.

I think priority number one will be to get out of that town and fast because it sounds like a very unaccepting place for the mentally disabled. Next I would try to get him the support that he needs and to get some sort of disabled paycheck if that's possible down in America in whatever town you choo...

Because people are often hateful monsters to anyone who they perceive as different, whether they intend it or not. That also goes for parents as well. I've also found that autism parents can be the same monsters towards their grown children that they were to them as children. I quite agree with you...

I feel this on a daily basis and it can be extraordinairily frustrating. It feels like many things need to be in place before my own personality will become unlocked. And like a key being pushed inside of a lock, every single tumbler needs to be in a certain position before I myself can be unlocked ...

Hello sand and stars in a bottle , and welcome to our forum. I'm sorry to hear about your bullying situation because I know exactly what you're going through. Being Autistic and getting bullied seems to go hand-in-hand unfortunately. Even throughout my adult years and at 43 years of age now I still ...

I think this totally depends on the person and as we all know Autism is a spectrum with varying degrees of intensity. For myself I have 5 other neuroses to add to the mix so for me life can be excruciatingly difficult and quite painful at times. I am looking forward to the day when I will receive th...

Growing up if I ever got angry in public my dad would immediately take us home to beat the hell'n'Jesus out of me for it. But that sort of negative reinforcement never carried into adulthood like he intended. The meltdowns continued even to this day at 43 years of age. And as a result I've lost my j...

This temporary manager person you spoke of, chris1989 , sounds like a horrendous person indeed. Alas, I'm afraid the world's attitudes towards Autistics remains quite negative and many people especially on the Internet seem to use the word "Autistic" used by itself as a mean-spirited name ...

I have obsession with having everything perfect or close to perfect like perfectly clean house or perfectly working car and in physical world perfection is tough to achieve and maintain for long. In computer domain its easier to get that and keep it this way, well unless humans involved they always...
